Gold to silver ratio
66.8 oz silver per oz goldContinuous record from November 28, 2025. Earlier marks are periodic reference prices, shown as points because they are individual readings rather than a continuous series.
The number of ounces of silver one ounce of gold will buy. Over the last twenty years it has mostly run between about 65 and 95 — high readings have historically favoured silver buyers and low readings gold. It is a relative-value gauge, not a signal, and we will tell you the same thing on the phone.

How we arrive at these numbers
Spot is the price for immediate delivery of one troy ounce of unfabricated metal, quoted continuously by the global over-the-counter market. The market has a bid and an ask at every moment; the figure shown here is the midpoint between them, taken from an institutional wholesale feed and refreshed every minute.
The market trades from 6pm Eastern on Sunday to 5pm Eastern on Friday, with a short daily break. Outside those hours we hold the last traded price and label it as closed rather than showing a stale number as though it were live.
Our continuous daily record begins in November 2025, and minute-by-minute recording began in July 2026. Points before that are periodic reference prices going back to 1985 — real readings, but weeks or months apart. The charts draw them as individual marks rather than joining them with a line, because we did not observe the path between them.
Nothing on this page is a firm quote. Prices are indicative and refresh continuously; a price becomes binding only when it is confirmed in writing at the time of order.
Common questions
What is the spot price of gold?
Spot is the price for immediate delivery of one troy ounce of unfabricated metal, quoted continuously by the global over-the-counter market. It is the base of every price we quote. What we charge over it is stated per product, before you authorize anything.
Why does a coin or bar cost more than spot?
A finished coin or bar carries refining, minting, distribution and dealer margin on top of the metal itself. That difference is the premium. We publish ours per product rather than folding it into a rounded price, so you can see exactly what the fabrication costs you.
Is the price on this page what I would pay?
No. This page shows the spot price of the raw metal. What you pay is spot multiplied by the weight of the item, plus that item's premium. The table further down this page shows both figures side by side for the products we stock.
Where do these prices come from, and how often do they update?
From an institutional wholesale feed for the over-the-counter market, refreshed every minute while the market is open. We show the midpoint between the market's bid and ask. The market trades from 6pm Eastern Sunday to 5pm Eastern Friday, with a short daily break; outside those hours the last traded price is held and labelled as closed.
What is the gold to silver ratio?
It is the number of ounces of silver that one ounce of gold will buy, and it is watched as a relative-value gauge between the two metals. Over the last twenty years it has mostly run between about 65 and 95. It is a gauge, not a signal, and we will say the same thing on the phone.
Will you buy metal back at the price shown here?
We quote against live spot, in writing, and the quote is free and carries no obligation. Like every dealer we buy on a spread, so a buyback is quoted below spot rather than at it. Bring metal to the counter in Chamblee or ship it insured; we weigh and test it in front of you and pay the same day.
How far back does the price history on this page go?
Continuous daily records begin in November 2025, and minute-by-minute records begin in July 2026. Earlier points are periodic reference prices back to 1985 rather than a continuous series, and the charts mark them as such rather than drawing a line through gaps we did not observe.
Do you charge to store metal you sell me?
Only if you ask us to hold it. Segregated vault storage in our Chamblee facility runs from 0.80% to 1.25% of declared value per year for gold, platinum and palladium, with one bracket rate applied to your whole balance rather than stepped in tiers. Metal is allocated to you in your own bag or bin and is never pooled.
Prices shown are indicative and refresh continuously; they are not a firm quote until confirmed in writing at the time of order. Spot reflects the over-the-counter market for unfabricated metal in troy ounces. Alex Lexington · 3335 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, Georgia · Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm Eastern.
